In March 2025, the historic streets of Rome became a stage for deep-seated political friction. This series captures the raw energy of a demonstration organized by the "Potere al Popolo" movement, where protesters gathered to voice their opposition against the militarization of the European Union and NATO's defense strategies. Through my lens, I documented the powerful symbolism used by the activists—from the burning of the EU flag to the vibrant red smoke of flares—reflecting a moment of intense social polarization and a call for peace in a turbulent geopolitical era.
The Weight of Conviction. Beyond the chants and the smoke, there are moments of quiet reflection. A solitary protester stands with his flag, his gaze capturing the heavy thoughts of a generation navigating a world of increasing military tension and uncertain peace.
The Aftermath of Symbolism. A charred remnant of the European Union flag lies on the Roman cobblestones—a stark visual metaphor for the rejection of current institutional policies.
